Wicked Jazz Sounds has become an institution within the Dutch music scene, especially as a musical platform.
A life span of more than twenty years overlooking club and festival performances.
A staggering 18 years of non-stop Sunday club nights plus, in addition to performances on all major festivals like North Sea Jazz, Lowlands and a wide range of stages in the Netherlands and abroad, they managed to organize their own Wicked Jazz Sounds Festival three times in a row, holding up to 5,000 visitors each edition.
This musical family is also known from its radio shows on ‘Red Light Radio’ (online) and
‘Radio 6 Soul & Jazz’ (former Dutch public radio).
Let’s not forget its series of compilations (seven volumes!),
two band albums plus the (still) running TIP44 playlist on Spotify (weekly updated) with thousands of followers.
During live shows, it is DJs that play together with musicians on an infectious dance floor focused mix of
funk, soul, hip hop, house, jazz and much more ...

Wicked Jazz Connection - Hypothesis EP
Wicked Jazz Connection is a project of the Amsterdam-based platform Wicked Jazz Sounds.
The project really is about just that: connections.
Traveling between many musical styles, countries and influences, the band takes you on a journey that spans funk, soul, jazz, afrobeat, house and hiphop. Fronted by the gorgeous and charismatic Berenice van Leer and backed by unstoppable forces Baraka G on keys and Leroy Rey on beats and electronica.
It features collaborations such as: Bootie Brown (The Pharcyde) and Ursula Rucker (The Roots, 4hero and King Britt).
